One Response to “Pictures!”

  1. Leslie Crabtree Says:

    Dear Michael,

I am Leslie Crabtree, a classical composer who writes mostly
vocal music, for voice and piano. I have written many songs in several different
languages (English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, etc.) on texts by world famous
poets, such as William Shakespeare, Alexander Pushkin, Heinrich Heine, Reiner Maria Rilke,
    and others.

I have written one opera, Washington Square, based on the short novel
by Henry James. Now I am working on a second opera, Measure for Measure, based on the
    play by William Shakespeare.

I have also written two song cycles: 9 Lieder, on the collection of poems by Heinrich
Heine, from his Buch der Lieder; and a longer cycle, “Mains de Sable” (“Hands of Sand”),
which is a set of 30 poems by the French-Canadian poet, Cecile Cloutier.

I would be very delighted if you sing any of my songs. Record them if
    possible and send to me.

Please visit my web-site: http://www.crabtree.narod.ru to listen to samples and
download the scores – go to the section “Works for voice and piano”.

You can watch two videos on my songs on Youtube:
“Because I could not stop for death” (on the poem of Emily Dickinson)
“Ne otkhodi ot menya” (“Don’t go away from me”) in Russian (on the
poem of Afanasiy Fet) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uP6L2G3Jh4.
Please leave your comment on my website and on Youtube.

    Sincerely, Leslie Crabtree
